Oh don’t play that card. Everyone knows that you don’t have to have capitals all the time anymore if it’s for stylistic reasons. Just the same as leaving out full stops at the end of sentences as they look ugly.
I take it you hate the itv logo and would insist it should by ITV and your BBC logo would have 6 blocks to include the grammatically necessary full stops?
No capital i in the Reith font then!

oh goodness not at all im glad we have at last finally come to the realisation that punctuation and capital letters are ugly and unnecessary in much the same way that its not important to cite sources correctly as long as they look right in graphic design terms and are in the right font thats the most important thing its tv after all which is a visual medium not like boring old media where clarity and accuracy matter

Lighten up, Moz, it was clearly a joke. You're being a little touchy at the moment, perhaps it's worth taking a step back.

Punctuation, which appears not to be important to you, is very helpful in getting across your thoughts. I had to read what you’d written a couple of times and I’m still not sure what your point is I’m afraid. Television is a visual medium of course, but when text appears it does need to be legible, spelt correctly and, where appropriate, include the right punctuation so that people can understand it.
There’s a big difference between logos and brand names and blocks of text. Plenty of brands include lower case, mixed case, all uppers etc. I do use lower case quite often in my designs - it can look extremely stylish - but if I’m putting up a block of text, for example a statement from a person, I’ll use correct formatting. I have to say though, I rather agree that India should have a capital letter in that example. Apart from it being a proper noun and a country name, I've never seen it before with a lower case ‘i’ and so, to me at least, it simply looks odd.
As long as I’m involved with making visual media I’ll endeavour to correctly spell and punctuate, and be as accurate as I can if that’s ok with you.

I think you might want to look at how Simon has written his post rather than what he has said and maybe you might see what the point was.

Are we expecting Reith on news from next week then? I’m sure it was said it’d be after the EU election.

Next week starts with a bank holiday and is then half term so probably the week after at the earliest (personally expecting the first week of September at this point).
