I can only assume that the whole look will need changing if they're going to go for these graphics. The black astons don't suit when the titles and the look are all white.

The way it pops up is quite nice. But the Midlands Today logo is horrific. Reith just does not look good like that for a main logo at all.

OK, so it's not perfect - the red box round Midlands Today is weird - but I'll reserve full judgement until I see it in use on the News Channel.

Until then though, I quite like the transparent black compared to the white. It's less intrusive. And I like the way it animates. Also love that they're using Reith Serif.

I don’t think it looks good in all capitals though.

Aren't many of the regional news programmes already in all caps?

I know it would look odd seeing BBC NEWSLINE as BBC Newsline on screen, though it would make their DOG smaller and hopefully they'll take the opportunity to update it so it isn't a jaggy mess even on BBC 1 HD.

Sorry I should have made it clear I was talking about the Reith Serif font for the names. I think it really looks ugly in all caps.

It may not be directly TV related but BBC Radio Wales to compliment launching its new on air sound updated its logo today which looks like it could be in the new BBC Reith typeface?

That really doesn’t work does it? The dot of the i is all wrong next to the word BUSINESS.

It's really not clear enough that it's a BBC programme either... A fourth logo on screen might help.

Doesn’t look right really. The serif / sans serif should be the other way round.

I think BBC BUSINESS is the brand, so it uses the brand style and the Live is specific for the show.
