Ha ha! But it’s not the whole BBC is it?
For some bizarre reason, BBC Sport always seems to do everything right. It managed to implement a new typeface and perfect graphics package, without fault, across multiple platforms and sports, including mainly live broadcast.
Why can’t News do this?

Its more than just a new design AFAIK - Its backend changes, and changes that will become part of the mobile apps.
Still doesn't mean it can't be launched alongside Reith.
It truly is a woeful roll-out branding-wise. We've had
- Sport fully launched in one go (why can they do it and nobody else!)
- iPlayer going over to Reith online but not on apps
- a new Weather provider and website which wasn't in Reith
- Reith on Victoria Derbyshire and Impact but no other BBC News output
- BBC Cymru in Reith Serif
- BBC News family & education in Reith Sans
- several other BBC News pages in Reith Sans with the main page in the old font
It's a complete mess which has lasted over 2 years!
Don't forget BBC Scotland, Global & Global Business on BBC World & the BBC Four End boards.
There are pages with the wider layout still not using Reith though - News homepage, video & audio and Newsbeat.
I don't get why they're updating any pages to Reith if they've got a new design coming soon. Why not do it all together?

BBC Four and BBC Two are using Reith
Is it Reith on the BBC4 trailers? I didn’t think it was.

Yes, and BBC TWO uses a font that changes from sans to serif at the end of the trailer.

Why can’t News do this?
Probably bc BBC News is a lot more lavish and has more legacy systems than sport.
All this talk of "but they could just change the stylesheet" annoys me. My employer has had a new logo for 3 years. We made a conscious decision not to change the logo on legacy websites because if we did stakeholders would think "oh that's it sorted" when there was more fundamental work that needed done.
The BBC are doing some fundamental changes in terms of their legacy tech and, trivial as it may seem, access to Reith may be a piece of the action.

That and all the old and ancient character generators in regions that need to be updated.
It seems like all of social media and promos on World News have been Reith’d.
