There was nothing wrong with Comic Sans in itself (apparently its good for dyslexic readers). Its when it appeared in inappropriate places that it became infuriating. Such as these horrible 22 examples here for your visual horror.

as for Gill Sans Infant - could be worse I suppose, but that's not bad.

I'd argue that the 'infant' version is better than the original, especially when it comes to disambiguating between 'I', 'l', and '1'

That's a surprise. I didn't think they did "infant" versions of fonts anymore.

I don't think Gill Sans Infant was designed by Eric Gill somehow. But the better version of Gill Sans was designed before it, by Eric Gill's teacher, Edward Johnston... Laughing

Ah yes, the lettering every primary school uses for their wall displays, along with those cardboard corrugated wavy borders in all variety of colours!
