New BBC corporate font: BBC Reith

That's been in use for a while.

On a side note, that teal BBC TWO type colour with the black BBC FOUR box just looks weird.

Reith is now being used on the CBeebies and CBBC website, but with a different a .

The font is using a Stylistic Set to use alternative characters. Makes sense to consider legibility and tone for the younger audience.

This tweet makes it look like News will be getting Reith Serif. Fingers crossed.

Edit: maybe not, Reith Sans doesn't have the "grown-up" g. I like how Duggie on the CBeebies website seems to be doing a Doctor Strange impression, though.

That's a surprise. I didn't think they did "infant" versions of fonts anymore.

Did you know that Gill Sans Infant existed?

Not keen on seeing it as an "infant" version. It is a Stylistic Alternative, with single story a's. I'm surprised there is no double story alternative for the letter g however, in the Sans font.

I thought Gill Sans Ultra Bold was the 'infant' version.

Yes. It was all over the place in my primary school.

Certainly beats Comic bloody Sans though
