New BBC corporate font: BBC Reith

To replace Gill Sans in print and on screen (May 2017)

Some pages on the BBC Music site are using Reith and others aren't. Nice to see it being introduced to more and more pages. As I would use the BBC News site the most, it will be nice to finally see it there. I only hope they sort out the page sizes for the Nations as the main News site is nice and wide and fills most of the screen but then the nations/regions seem to be squashed into the centre.

The News section will probably be changed when they change the on-screen graphics, like Sport was. Same goes for Weather.

So it just the fonts changing or are we getting bbc rebrand

I'd like to think some of the channels will refresh their looks, like BBC Sport did.

BBC News may get a new on-screen look, and not just a font change.

BBC Weather changed it's graphics, so I wouldn't expect more than a few tweaks and the font change.

I really can't say that I like the font at all.

The serif font on BBC Four looks dated rather than timeless, and the text on the BBC Sport page renders like a WHSmith knock off of Letraset rub down lettering.

No, I'm not keen on it.

Personally, I love it. It's a shame the BBC Sport site looks nicer and more modern than the rest of the main pages, but that will all change in time I suppose.

The new font looks more Verdana to me, and shame when they have such a nice font for BBC1. I would have stuck to Gill personally.

The whole TV section is now using Reith but iPlayer Radio hasn't changed yet.

Chances are there won't be much cosmetic work on iPlayer Radio in the short term, as the combined audio product will be launching later in the year.
