Just saw the ad for 8 BBC TV channels just after the 6 closing headlines just before 7pm.

Quite long winded.....how many times did they mention Freeview??? But only advertised 7 channel - did not mention Parliament at all!

Who was the woman?......familiar but couldn't place her. At least they are advertising again - I was beginning to think that they given up on the whole debarcle.

How come you just saw it if it was on last night?

ok......slightly wrongly worded.

I meant to say (in my head) that I saw the ad last night and just thought about it again now to mention it to others on the forum...since it has not been mentioned as yet.,

Nit-picker!

The woman is Suzi Perry, presenter on SuperStars, new Treasure Hunt and the BBC's motorbike coverage.

Well they didn't ask for BBC Parliament. As part of the drive to make parliament more accessible, current broadcasting legislation requires that there is a channel offering parliamentary coverage. After attempts to run this commercially (remember The Parliamentary Channel?) failed, the remit fell to the BBC by default. With that in mind, they are never going to invest mega bucks in it.

Probably the biggest piece of crap I've seen on the BBC so far. It was so cheesy and I swear she kept stumbling on her words.

Get it off...

I still don't understand why they do that promo for what's on now on three BBC services. You know the one...

BBC ONE - Changing Rooms
BBC TWO - Fresh Prince of Bel Air
BBC Radio 1 - Dave Pearce

Why three? To me they should show off BBCs ONE to FOUR and mention that continuing news is on BBC NEWS 24.

Well, they did for a while - I liked it. Then they stopped again.

Like chewing gum, they seem to lose the flavour of these things very quickly.

Should they advertise BBC ONE, BBC TWO, CBBC & CBeebies then before the 6 o clock news?

I've also noticed today that CBBC on BBC One and the channel have been using the Where's Your Head at website promo, do you think they will be trying to reintroduce it slowly?

Sorry to be nit-picky, but I was sure it said 6 new channels: News 24, BBC3, BBC4, CCBC and CBeebies (which, of course, is 5!).
It seems a very laboured ad - and certainly more likely to get on people's nerves than the 'rip off your face' set.

Oh shut up you moron.

Its an evolution of the previous advertising for the BBC digital services, and it will continue to evolve, to appeal to different people.
