The BBC have announced they are going to show a seven part documentry on Rock Bands

I've noticed reccently that their have been alot of documentries that have been split into parts or ver a week broadcast paticularly on BBC 2 and BBC 4. Why do they feel the need to show alot of these?

The BBC have only just finished their Edwardian week, not so long ago, there was the year of 1997 on BBC 4.

They're good as long as they are excuted well. I Love 1970's & 1980's were good series, but the 1990's series wasn't mainly as it came to soon after the turn of the century and there wasn't any real nostalgic feeling to it, had they had done it this year however....

Yeah to be fair the 1990's probably won't have the same nostalgic feel like the 1970's & 1980's for a few years yet, mainly as there hasn't been as a dramatic change from this decaded to the next like previosu decades, if anyone understands what I mean by that Confused Very Happy

When I first read this thread, I thought how badly the BBC were struggling for programme ideas to come up with a series on astrolithology!

I think you need at least 10, probably 15 years, before we can get really nostalgic about the 1990s. Having said that nostalgia tends to work on the "decade before last rule" after all.

Agreed, it should have been shown in 2011 or something like that. I think it's more to do with the changes from the 90's to the 2000's weren't as dramatic as the 70's to 80's or 80's to 90's.
