New batch of LDN presenters?

Noticed this recently - yesterday & today infact - & Jules Botfield doing the late bulletin for 2 weeks now - whats happened to the regulars? Gillian Joseph, Nina Hossain etc. etc.

I saw Summit Bowes, who used to also do 60 Seconds as well as Inside Out do the news during last night's Ten.

...And a fine job he did of it too...

Don't take me the wrong way here, but why is BBC LDN news largely dominated by Asian presenters?

Because it's trendy.

Wonder if he is assuming News presenting duties whilst Inside Out is off-air for its break.

Lol. I don't like some channels who have non-white presenters just to look open to other cultures. I think all news readers, whatever their ethnic origin, should be picked on there ability to do the job. Summit Bowes, in my opinion, does a great job, but I could name other 'non-white' presenters who aren't so fab.

Or Sumit Bose, even.

Anyway, Mike Ramsden (not asian) is popping up over at Radio 1 and presumabley Gillian (not asian) and Nina (asian, I think) are on holiday, leaving Emily (not asian) and Asad (asian) doing the main bits with others such as Jules (not asian) filling in.

Well, not exactly irrelevent. It is something that I too, along with a few others, have noticed, so it's a little bit pompous of yourself to dismiss these thoughts.

Incidentally, Gillian & Nina (if they are on holiday) have been away a long time now...
