Being an unlimited card holder I've seen a few Channel 4 programmes advertised in the past, though I think this was the first time I've seen the Bake Off one in the cinema. Considering the adverts/trailers tend to change on Fridays it was slightly odd that the end board for the advert simply said 'Coming Soon' rather than displaying a date as per the more recent TV adverts.

Isn't it the case if you run a trailer on another channel in a paid for advertising slot, you are not allowe to use the time and date of broadcast - I think cinema advertising is an extension of this? I first noticed it when Neighbours went to C5 and ran some ads on ITV/C4, they couldn't even use "Starts Monday", just "Coming Soon" or "This week".

Last time I saw some C4 advertising in the cinema for some sitcom on E4 it advertised it as on "This Week"

Probably only sent one version to the cinema ad agency, and perhaps before a slot was finalised (or announced) so they couldn't put anything else on it.

Cineworld were putting out the trailer for 'Fast & Furious 8' well into January, maybe even February with "next year" on the end of it, by which time the name of the film had changed.

Two weeks running without a BBC show on the cover, is the editor feeling all right.

I take it everyone has seen all the Bake Off billboards as well, not just in London either but all over the place.

Ben Preston has left the RT fortunately.

Seems the reviews from the screening of the first ep are unanimously positive.

Yeah, seems they've cleared the first hurdle. The big question now is do viewers love Bake Off enough to sit through 75 minutes of it packed with ads?

The bigger question is how those viewers have coped with commercial television for the last sixty years.

You answered your own question. We just "coped" until sky+ came along!. Seriously who sit's through ads if they don't have to? Don't we all join in 20 minutes late and skip through them?

You answered your own question, making all four of our posts redundant.

3. Prue has some advice for those who hate the thought of adverts during Bake Off.
"You don't have to watch it in real time," she says, championing the joy of services which let you skip the ads.
Jay Hunt (jokingly) put her head in her hands at this point.
