Has anyone else spotted the BBC sitcom season promo with 1970s Micheal fish?

Have they done some clever digital jiggery-pokery with genuine archive footage of the real Michael Fish, or is that simply a present-day young actor dressed up as him?

Have these specials been recorded yet? I'm quite interested in the Keeping up Appearances prequel.

I have a horrible feeling they'll try too hard to capture the charm of the originals and it'll just come off cheesy, like a bad tribute.

There's a 12 minute video on this link which shows some of the comedies. Are You Being Served? looks very innuendo laden as ever, and to be fair Young Hiacinth looks interesting.

I think if anything, Young Hiacinth has the most potential to become a series.

The replacement for Kenneth Williams is pretty good IMO, as is the guy playing Hancock.

The writer (IIRC Roy Clarke is back to write it) has already said he's written with it in mind for it to become a series. I'm assuming there's a bit of Still Open All Hours about this one.

Kevin McNally (Mr Gibbs in Pirates of the Caribbean) played Hancock in a series of recreations of missing Hancock's Half Hour (radio) episodes a couple of years ago, and Kevin Eldon was in those as well.

Though I'd assume Kevin's not in it as he played Bill Kerr.

The unfortunate thing about the Lost Hancocks radio series was that all the impressions were spot on except the Sid James which you'd think would be one of the easiest ones to do

He is, but he's playing John Vere, whoever that is.

Edit: seems John Vere was one of the actors (the only one with a red link on the Wikipedia page) in Hancock's ITV sitcom.
