Always wondered how it started. Still dont think its as good as the 2002 Countdown. The current version is rather more sinister.

Same here, I don't really like World's headline bed or the tag that goes with it, compared to the previous two, which were more powerful and dramatic IMHO

Yeah - the 2002 countdown followed by the huge crash and the really loud thunderclaps and headline bed at such a fast pace - the presenter would need to take a huge breath before the headlines begun to keep them in time to the rather fast thunderclaps - then when they finished you'd just hear them exhale before "Welcome to BBC World News.." The 2002 set was pretty unbeatable IMO.

Loving the start of the countdown there... very Radio1-Terminator styled. I'm creaming my pants over it now Wink

I have dowloaded it, too. The previous countdown was better, IMO.
However, I think the beginning of the new countdown, from the 6th second to the 14th (where the variations of the theme begin) would be a great headline bed. Very Happy

Did anyone notice that after 22 seconds there is a bit of the News24/World Opening Titles in the new countdown?
