There was I programme I remember seeing about trains and life on a country station on a branchline - it had a theme tune with "Oh Doctor Beeching what a naughty man..."

I was watching a cartoon called 'Tube Mice' made by TSW in 1988 on a German channel, I don't think that's ever been repeated here since!

Rolling Eyes

Which can also be seen on UK Gold now and then.

What about that program starring him off the Royle Family - two pints of beer and a bag of nuts.....is that ever repeated? Confused:

Any particular reason that series has never been repeated?

So that Simon's stash of off-air recordings remains incomplete.

I understand the decision came from Phil Redmond himself, but don't quote me on it.

This has been shown on Pop or Tiny Pop in the UK quite recently.

I wish I knew! In typical fashion, there was a signal outage towards the end of one episode...

1997 saw Grange Hill move from Friday to Thursday, because Blue Peter was now thrice weekly. Before that GH received a repeat Autumn transmission, often in the 4:30pm slot. To date, this is the only series never to have been repeated, and it's a pain having such a large hole in the archive.

What do you think Wink

People get *obsessed* with comedy "dating". NTNON has some bits that would be incomprehensible to a younger audience, but still has *huge* amounts of non-topical stuff, or topical stuff that's so well-known about it still makes sense today, or topical stuff that you don't need to know the entire story about anyway, and is still funny. And even if that wasn't true, who says repeats of it have to be geared towards everyone? You could easily stick out some repeats of it aimed towards an older audience, perhaps on BBC FOUR.

As for the Goodies - I can't see much that's dated much in that at all (the effects are *deliberately* cartoony!) Three grown men being silly will always be funny. Sure, it's not to everyone's tastes, which is fair enough, but that's no reason not to repeat it.

I think a BBC FOUR repeat of The Goodies is long overdue - and I think there's certain timeslots it would suit on BBC TWO. I can imagine it getting a cult younger audience.

I realise that us lot in particular are slightly unusual - we tend to look at programmes in a *historical* context more than perhaps a general audience does. But that's no reason to underestimate the kind of things people will watch.

You can add to the "Why aren't these repeated? It's that Bliar government and asylum seekers, it is!" list Jam and the not oft repeated The High Life .
Oh dearie me!
You can get The High Life on this special Air Scotia DVD release.

Yes, it was a sort-of spin-off from You Rang My Lord which in turn was a kind of spin-off from Hi-De-Hi. The 3 series shared some cast (Paul Shane, Su Pollard, Jeffrey Holland) and had the same writers (although Jimmy Perry didn't write Beeching)
