It must be then that this film was recorded in late 1973, and the Trident takeover was a done deal in 73.
Thanks for the link by the way, I was unaware of that site. However a couple of points on the Tyne Tees page are incorrect; is there any way I can get an account on that site and I'll contribute directly?

And now its another wonderful trip into the archives: LNN was not the first time 7 day news service for London was talked about, try 13 years
I remember a lunchtime Calendar done with just the house lights due to an electrician's strike. Subtitles were provided IIRC.
There was a national dispute in the mid 80s, many live programmes were affected, ITN news, regional news progs, and a rather gloomy looking Dickie Davies at a snooker tournament !

There is a clip on youtube with Thames news showing the poor lighting from there 1984 strike.
Does anyone know when the Frank Bough sex scandal took place in 1992? if it was later 1992 that might explain why LWT Axed Six o'Clock live!
By this point I believe 6 O'Clock Live was being fronted by Nick Owen anyway, but it was axed apparently so they could start building up and getting ready for London News Network, the last 6 O'Clock Live was late August and LWT News was on at 5.10pm on Fridays for the rest of 1992 by the looks of it.
