OK, it was 1974.

It must be then that this film was recorded in late 1973, and the Trident takeover was a done deal in 73.

Thanks for the link by the way, I was unaware of that site. However a couple of points on the Tyne Tees page are incorrect; is there any way I can get an account on that site and I'll contribute directly?

I remember a lunchtime Calendar done with just the house lights due to an electrician's strike. Subtitles were provided IIRC.

There was a national dispute in the mid 80s, many live programmes were affected, ITN news, regional news progs, and a rather gloomy looking Dickie Davies at a snooker tournament !

By this point I believe 6 O'Clock Live was being fronted by Nick Owen anyway, but it was axed apparently so they could start building up and getting ready for London News Network, the last 6 O'Clock Live was late August and LWT News was on at 5.10pm on Fridays for the rest of 1992 by the looks of it.
