Well 5 Prime never even made it on air.

They were forced to tweak the 10 Boss to start with after a complaint from the owners of the BOSS magazine - who also own the Nine network. Once they'd made that change, they then decided that wasn't enough which forced 10 to change the name to 10 Bold.

Embarassing for everyone involved, really. If anything it goes to show what an afterthought the new names actually were and I won’t be surprised if 10 ‘bold’ gets another rebrand in the next 12 months.

Is it confirmed the latest name change is due to the AFR Boss complaint? I haven’t seen the 10 Bold logo, but in theory it can now reflect the other Ten logos again by displaying the name outside the “10” circle.

Yes, directly due to the complaint. The logo is identical to the original 10 Boss logo, with just the "SS" changing to "LD". http://www.bandt.com.au/marketing/network-10-forced-rebrand-10-boss-10-bold-following-fairfax-court-action

Can we expect 10 Italic next year too?

At least they can go back to the original style of logo/watermark with only the 10 in the circle. Boss became the “odd man out” as a result of the copyright issues:

It’s been suggested - not too seriously- that 10 Peach could be renamed 10 Beautiful, then Ten’s channel names would promote their hideously bad daytime import The Bold and the Beautiful.
