I only really recall Network Ten from this piece by Australian journalist Marc Fennell that was posted on the Idents blog (back when it was still updated)…

Ah yes, I remember this! Network Ten was seen as the more creative networks for presentation.
I think Aussie pres has taken a nosedive within the past 10 years, similar to here.

Here's a somewhat different version of this ident from Capital Television (CTC-7), Ten's affiliate in Canberra at the time. Most of the animation is the same, but instead of "Ten" forming at the end, we see the "Capital" logo:

We are crashing off topic here but I have always thought this was the best promo ever made for a channel, and despite being FIFTEEN years old, the style of it hasn't really dated.
I remember watching a Real Video of this when it was still being broadcast and then comparing it to that crappy celeb promo we had on ITV1.

Absolutely - made ITV1's look like poor mocks. Even the follow up in 2003 was better:

The excellent underused Cornelia Frances there too.
It is a shame what has happened to Network Ten. Here in the UK we have seen Neighbours and Richmond Hill produced by that Network which has been in action for many years.
Remember back in the eighties when the Aussie Dramas were more popular than our own. We should thank these Networks for providing good entertainment.
Any fan of Neighbours out there (Which I am and still regularly watch) it was Network Ten who saved the programme when 7 Network axed it.

Does Ten going into administration possibly change the game for Five's negotiations on retaining Neighbours?
