If you haven't read the Soaps pages, from any of the weekly TV listings guides
dated Sept 13-19 yet, do not highlight the text beyond the yellow ! icon below.
As you'll have no doubt seen at least once by now, there have been a couple of trailers, advertising the
forthcoming Neighbours episode featuring the wedding of Toadfish and Dione. Considering the way the
trailers have been made you'll probably realise that something is going to tragically wrong on the day.
While Toadie and Dee make there way to the airport, to set off for their honeymoon, Toadie tells
his new wife of all the details of their honeymoon in the Maldives. He takes his eyes off the road
for a brief second to kiss Dee, but loses all control of the car, and ends up driving over the edge
of a cliff and plunges into the sea.below. Toadie survives the accident, but Dee disappears.
Stuart Parker and Toadie's brother "Stonefish", notice that Toadie and Dee have forgotten to take
their honeymoon tickets with them. They leave the wedding party to try and catch up with them.
They do catch up, only to reach the scene of the accident, and to find Toadie trying to look for
his missing bride in the sea. The emergency services are called out, but sadly they're unable
to find Dee. It seems that what could be the shortest Ramsay Street marriage in Neighbours'
history has come to a rather tragic and heartbreaking end.
Now, here's where this particularly sad storyline loses all credibility. From what I've read, Dee
has not actually been killed off. Although Madeline West, who played Dee Bliss, has now left
the show, it seems the producers are leaving the door open for her return.
Does this mean than Dione will reappear in about 5 years time, with memory loss, and didn't
the producers try this before, when they brought back harold Bishop. Or maybe, if Ms West
does return to Neighbours at somepoint in the future, will she resume her original role, or
will the show's producers suddenly come up with Dione's twin sister Diane?
