Yes ditto to the above. Here are some captures plus a video for you all to look at:

Right Click - Save Target As...
They never seem to get a right, the ECP played the other week with no sound.

It's irrelevant that the credits are too squashed to read, because most viewers never bother reading them anyway. The majority of the audience starts to channel-hop within about 5 seconds of the start of the closing credits. That's why broadcasters use ECPs - they are trying to impart a promotional message *before* viewers flip to another channel. If they waited until the credits had finished, most of their audience would be in the middle of channel-hopping and would miss the message completely.

Why do they bother doing it anyway, even when it works?
The credits are so squashed you cant read them - why don't they just use a good old fashioned voice over - or just wait until the programme has finished before they tell us what is next?!?

Blimey! That has to be the biggest cock-up over Neighbours so far. As KA UK said the ducker didn't dip the sound of the credits last week so you couldn't even hear the ECP.
This happened last year as well. During the "Hitting Home" campaign, they had to play out an ECP with the helpline number to call if you'd been affected by any of the issues in the programme. Whoever had edited the show had already right aligned the credits so the ECP could be played out without a squash. Someone is Presentation still programmed it to squeeze so they were even more compressed than normal
How would this event of occured though? Has someone programmed it to play out the credits instead of the ECP?

[sarcasm] Yes, because people often plan to bugger up the output. [/sarcasm]

No need to get on your high horse marksi!
I never said they were planning to cock-it up. I was simply giving my opinion of the way the presentation of Neighbours is handled. It seems to suffer more gaffs than any other show. As this is a free country and the BBC is a service for which I pay for, I think you'll find I'm allowed to do this.

I understand that people do flick and ECPs are very useful to keep viewers, but you'd have thought that BBC One, this country's premier channel would have spent a little bit of time and effort making it so its actually readable, or at least not show them at all! I know people don't read them - and it's probably some copyright infringment or something - but there is no purpose of them if they are incomprehensible!

You see the difference between when your computer system in work goes wrong, and when the computer system I use in work goes wrong is that no one knows about your problem except you. Whereas a similarly small problem can create something that a large number of people see, for me and my colleagues.

So instead viewers channel-hop within two seconds of the credits appearing, and as ECPs take a few seconds to kick in the message is still lost.
Which makes the whole exercise completely pointless, and mistakes like today's more gratifying!

They also messed up the 6pm ECP too. They squashed the whole picture and left lots of red on the right side.
