It was July 2007 when they got the current theme. However, it wasn't till 2008 before they only played it on Fridays.

Although I think it has been tweaked slightly for the opening credits. I have tried to compare and cant get them to match. But the actual theme is from the 2007 relaunch I knew that.

I think they tweaked the opening theme in 2008 so the old recap tune would blend in with the theme.

The last three posts from the other Neighbours thread opened the other day, despite this thread still being open.

Neighbours want stupid after about 2003/2004
Sad Still can't believe how that Susan Bower is still working there

I think it's a global phenomenon. EastEnders turned into a glorified Byker Grove in recent years, where it's all
about the young people and their "issues". The "adults" just bitch and scream at each other constantly.
As far as the standard of writing and acting is concerned I've seen better am-dram productions.

After the BBC was told to pay 3 times from what it was paying it seemed doomed
from there on it got 5million uk viewers and being the 2nd most watch daytime
programme on the bbc as this report shows:

The other thread could with being merged with this one. I sent a request to Asa for a thread merger last night.

I remeber there being a tune like a trumbone or someting that played when ever something cheeky or funny happened like when henry ramsay
got caught near naked outside when the door locked they would have a piece of music play

There used to be specific pieces of incidental music for certain scenes at in the past. Although there were occasions
when very serious sounding incidental music was used over scenes of something really not all that serious at all.
As I recall they also went through a phase of using Aussie pop songs of the time as background music.

In some instances, music being played on the jukebox in the Coffee Shop or Lou's pub, is faded up at the end of
a scene. Nowadays, a large chunk of a current or recent Aussie pop song is often played over an entire scene!

Meanwhile, could one of the mods kindly merge the other Neighbours thread into this one? It's a bit daft to have
a longer thread like this one, upstaged by a newer thread about the exact same subject. This ain't Digital Spy!

To all intents and purposes, the other thread is effectively redundant!

Not really. This thread hadn't been posted in in several months, and was only brought back when you started posting in it.

Yeah use to love that, same music when someone died etc or was leaving, then they just started playing stupid songs since it moved to 5.

This thread hadn't been posted in in several months . . .

Several months?!? The gap between posts was 29th April - 26th April ... more like several weeks than several months.
To be more accurate, it'd be several months if this thread hadn't had any new posts added since last December.

If this thread really had been left without new posts for several months, and eventually archived, then that'd a good enough reason to create a new Neighbours thread. Like I said, you didn't look down the forum far enough.

Anyway, I'm off to watch some of last week's episodes from Down Under that I posted spoilers to earlier . . .

Maybe the year in the thread title should be changed....

Then so many new threads won't be started! Wink Wink
