Since the old thread hasn't been posted on since last August, rather than dig that one out, I thought it'd be better to
leave it behind, and have a fresh start for the New Year, with an all new Neighbours thread for 2010 and onwards.

First thing to mention, is that the unofficial Neighbours fansite PerfectBlend.net is closing soon. In their own words:

Quote:
". . . (we) don't have the time to give it the attention it deserves, and have also seen a shift
towards negativity from our readers and on the messageboard in the last few years . . . "

The site closes on it's 7th birthday ... 27th February ... scroll down to Nov 07 2009 on their News page for more info.

Meanwhile, as for the show itself ... Neighbours returns to Aussie screens from tomorrow (11th). As usual, it'll be
several weeks (not sure exactly how many) before the episodes about to air in Aus, are aired over her on Five.

SPOILER WARNING - If you don't want to know what's coming up, DO NOT click the links below!
Neighbours 2010 - "Father Like Son" - (Network Ten promo)
Neighbours 2010 Season Preview - as seen on Network Ten.

(I was going to embed those videos on this page, but it didn't work! Still, only click if really want to be spoiled!)

I sort of gave up with Neighbours after the terrible acting from Bridget, Harold leaving and someone always ending up in hospital.

But give or take, it's usually one of the shows I can nip in and out of so may watch a few episodes again when I have time.

Well, Bridget's gone, and there's been no scenes inside Erinsborough Hospital for a while. Although there are some
hospital scenes from the early in the 2010 (Aus - Netw. 10) season, involving a major character being badly injured.

Lucas. Spinal injuries.

Well there we go then, it's like a Merry Go Round that hospital.

Just because you put someone in hospital is not excuse to generate drama.

Apparently there's some returnees for the 25th anniversary celebrations in March, last I read Susan Bower is keeping quiet about them.

What the..

IS SUSAN KENNEDY PREGNANT?

What is she? 52?

Yes, Susan is pregnant, as part of a storyline where Libby wants to have a child fathered by her current hubby Dan.

Since Libby can no longer have children due to having a hysterectomy, thanks to the motorcycle accident she had
with Steph several years ago, Susan offered to be a surrogate mother. Dr Karl was dead against the idea due to
her age and having Multiple Sclerosis. Paul Robinson published an unpleasant article in the Erinsborough News
about the whole saga to cause friction on Ramsay Street, and public controversy for the rest of Erinsborough.

Apparently . . .
Susan loses the baby. Libby and Dan split up. Dan moves away.

Dan Dies I believe. Not sure if true but it was a roomer.

Ratings have been at an all time low in Australia since it returned, falling as low as 420,000.

Which for Australia is quite bad!

I can't see the show lasting much longer. They're spending all this money on another major revamp for HD, I just hope it's worth it because at the moment in the UK, the storylines are just going round in circles with somebody ending up in hospital all the time. Fair play the acting has never been Neighbours strong point but currently the newcomers are just attrocious!

Must admit I ditched Neighbours early last year and I'd been watching since the early nineties. It just doesn't seem to be as good as it used to. I know shows have to evolve but it seems to have lost the plot somewhat.

Neighbours atm really is just getting a bit minotmus now, its just about the teens. Susans baby story and the arguments between Libby and Dan going on and on and now Elle is expected to leave this week I think. IMO it went down hill when we saw the back of the Parkers. Also what really bugs me is that they show "coming up next time". It basically summarises the story and if you was to watch that without the program then you could gather out whats happening. In these coming up bits they try to make things dramatic but they are not and sometimes I really ask myself if im going to watch the next days episode Very Happy
