As far as we know no break, it will be Friday BBC ONE, Monday Five, It should be around March/April.

I just can't see that being the case - the BBC wouldn't want it and I don't think it be that good for Five actually, who'd probably like a couple of weeks at least promote the switch to Five.

It won't be anything like the 12 month gap Home and Away suffered - but I think there could be a few weeks between the switch.

BTW, if Neighbours screens pretty much uninterrupted apart from over Christmas, when would it end on the BBC?

If the BBC complete the 2007 season then it will run until the beginning of March on BBC One.

Five where I live broadcasts on 35 UHF which is the same frequency as my video but luckily I managed to retune my video Smile. I think that as a good move the first episode on 5 will be the first one of the 2008 season. The BBC gets around the 4 week break by not showing Neighbours during Wimbledon and on various holidays. Any idea how Five will get around this? Not broadcasting during the holidays is usual but anything else up their sleeve?

I also feel that Five will start broadcasting adverts about 2 weeks before they start broadcasting Neighbours, at the beginning they may just have a few second trailer then get deeper before the switchover, possibly in a Network 10 style advert? It's going to be wierd to watch Neighbours with adverts.

Surely soon it will come to a point where they will have to take a longer break from Home & Away too, what they will fill it with will be interesting. If they're airing them back to back, they'll have to fill it with an hour drama, or something.

They have started taking breaks from Home and Away on Bank Holidays for the first time this year. By doing that and taking a break over Christmas they will slow down how quickly we catch up (currently about 12 weeks behind Oz) however eventually we will have to take a longer break as its off for 6 weeks every Christmas in Oz.

Maybe they could do with picking up the rights to a long running series from the US/Canada/Australia that hasn't been seen over here, or not for a long time. Like ITV seem to be doing with Everwood and New Adventures of Superman. Or even what five have been doing with Dawson's Creek.
Or rejig the summer line up and have the daytime lineup changed and include a programme to leas up to 7.
They may aswell break for both at the same time, instead of carrying one on and not the other.

I agree!!! I have been thinking that for a few weeks now, she is really good!! Loving the storyline too!!

Only started watching Neighbours since the rebrand, after a 7 year absence, and I'm hooked again! (is that really sad)?

I've kind of got back into it after a number of years where every episode I caught seemed even worse than EastEnders. It is this storyline though - apart from that not alot else interesting me at the moment.

And as for Foz - well, Hollyoaks loss is Neighbours burden!

I loved the scene with the three Cammenitti women. I think the mother-daughter-sister relationship between the three of them is incredibly realistic. It's great that Lucia has become more of a recurring guest, in the past her sporadic visits just weren't enough.

The Carmella, Oliver and Elle storyline is already shaping up really well, it looks like it's going to be interesting to see how Elle deals with the situation. All three of them have developed into great characters over the past few months, which is impressive considering the state they were all in about a year ago: Carmella was left directionless after the nun storyline, Oliver didn't have a personality beyond reading Will's lines, and Elle was just an illogical mess of a character.

The stuff with Mickey and Lou was cute. They'd make a great double act. It seems a bit empty.

Also, the way the Parkers seem to launch a crusade against any dodgy issue could get irritating quickly - I might be completely wrong, but the way Steve and Miranda reacted to the hats makes me think they're going to kick up a fuss about the genuine fur. Hopefully I've just misread the situation.

Hmm yes they are a bit annoying aren't they, they also don't seem to have any attractive teenage sons or daughters which is a bit unusual for Neighbours at the moment!

The Oliver / Carmella / Elle thing should be quite interesting however for us Home & Away watchers there is a bit of a sense of deja vu - very similar situation to Kim / Kit / Rachel.

Edit: Oh yes and that English guy is terrible.
