I agree, it was very funny indeed. I'm also loving the Scary Mary in prison story. It was hysterical when she broke that tough girl's arm!

t had me in stiches in todays episode with the storyline of Dr Karl Kennedy and his desperatation to land a high-powered job as a drug rep.
Lying about his age, family and saying that Susan is his older sister with 5 children all from different fathers, including Lou Carperter!

She cracks me up (mainly because she looks exactly like an old woman that lives down out street who likes throwing eggs at youths)

Odd - she looks exactly like an actress who used to appear in "Sons and Daughters" to me... (It is Patricia isn't it?)

Prisoner was filmed at the exact same studios in Melbourne. Wouldn't
surprise me if they were using some of the old Prisoner sets!!!!
Indeed ... the studio building (at Global Television, in Nunawading) that currently house the interior sets for Neighbours,
was the building presented as the exterior facade of the "Wentworth Detention Centre" in "Prisoner". Although they're
not using any of the original sets from "Prisoner", for Sky Mangel's jail scenes, IMO it would've been interesting to
see Sky getting sent to Wentworth, instead of Goodwood Women's Prison, while she awaits trial for murder.
A somewhat missed opportunity methinks, to see how Wentworth might now look 21 years since Prisoner ended.
And since Neighbours might be moving to bigger studios soon, Fremantle/Grundy could produce an all new series
of Prisoner, with updated (much less wobbly) sets, based upon the original sets, with a new cast of characters.

I'm sure those sets of Wentworth's interior won't still exist, although I agree it would have been nostalgic for them to re-use them. I don't recall them being that wobbly, except for the gates which always appeared to be made from grey painted balsa wood.
No doubt Wentworth was eventually closed, as it can't have been very efficient to run a whole prison for only 10 inmates
EDIT:
As an aside, in Prisoner what was the eventual fate of "Old Lizzie". She appeared to have been in there for about 30 years on the pretext of having stolen a packet of crisps worth a shilling in 1955

I'm sure all the Prisoner sets were destroyed a long time ago, although some of the brickwork did survive and was used as scenery for Neighbours, suitable because the colour matched the brick on many of the Ramsay St houses. I'm not sure if in the modernisation of sets that has occurred over the years whether the bricks have been replaced.
It's quite interesting at Global Studios to see some of the bars on the "windows" are still in place, or at least were a couple of years ago, despite Prisoner ending in 1985!

The bars were still there 10 months ago!!!!
IF Prisoner was to be ever remade I"d love Rowena's Neighbours character to be the main central character just like Queen Bea was in the original
