Well they wanted to give it a complete overhaul and i think it represents what they were wanting. It feels fresh and friendly, with storylines going back to family routes. Suites very well. Im sure the old school Neighbours fans will be thinking of suicide when it hits our screens Razz

Apart from the titles, most of that trailer is encouraging - you are right! The new family that has moved into the scully/timmins house looks good - and Valda returns - that has brought a smile to my face!

Ratings have gone up in Oz this week to above 900,000, which may not seem a lot here, but they had been getting between 600,000 - 800,000 which was not very good, the bosses hope to break the 1million barrier, which does seem possible next week.

Like the titles, but the logo is vile.I wouldnt be supprised if they brought back the 'squiggly' one.

Yeah, either its deliberate, or it was not meant to be shown until 23rd July, which is when the big launch kicks off.

Well, IMO, the reworked theme tune is crap, and the new logo looks far too plain. I think they'll probably reinstate the
classic "Brush Script" Neighbours logo. Hopefully there'll be enough complaints from longtime viewers about that

And as Neighbours is going HD, like I said earlier in this thread, I hope they're not going to spoil it by adding that
gratuitous fake filmic look. That'd be like taking one step foward and then at least three steps back. The preview
clip shown on the Neighbours website is too small to be able to tell whether they've (stupidly) done that

Why spend thousands on upgrading all your TV production equipment to HDTV, if a pointless fake film effect is
added later. It's fine on big budget drama series like Doctor Who and Torchwood, but on lower budget, mostly
studio based daytime soap operas, there is absolutely no need for it whatsoever.

As see oldies like yourself wont like the new theme i guess. I think its time they went for a change, and i hope it works.

That's awful - visually just as poor as the cartoons Evil or Very Mad

I disagree. The current ones look cheap and tacky with little production values (sticking people in the studio with green screen certainly isn't hard!).

The new ones are action packed, fresh and have more than them grinning at the screen. The photo booth idea is pretty decent - if not slightly similar to H&A's "Polaroid" ones. And back up to 30secs for the titles too.

The music is a bit of a shame - considering the number of lines in the original song to effectively repeat the same line seems a bit pointless. Not awful, just not that good.

Same with the logo - replacing the iconic logo which isn't retro or dated with the most blandest font possible has to be the worst decision. Change for the sake of it. Animate the old one onto the titles and it'll look great.

I watched this for the first time since Harold rose from the dead. I quite enjoyed it. I've seen that wicked kidnapper woman somewhere before. Might have been cell block H or something.
I might just get into it again. I seem tohave no recollection of who the characters are except Harold.

Yep she was either in Cell Block or that other Aus prison progoramme the name of I have temporarily forgotten (embarassingly enough it might actually be 'Prisoner')!
