It is to do with Neighbours, so should rightly be discussed here. It will probably end up staying with the BBC, its been with them for over 21yrs, so why change now.
I read this at work
(honest I was doing stuff at the time too)
and I reckon
five
will get it since they are owned by the same parent company that makes it. Although I thought BBC funded alot of it anyway, so RTL would have to stump up all the costs themselves then.
I don't think the BBC contributes a massive amount towards production costs. RTL could easily take this on or who ever wins the bid could also take on a funding role. Thing is im worried that if ITV take it we will see it constantly moved and shoved around the schedule just to make way for things. At least the BBC tend to keep programmes in there slots where ever possible. It does Neighbours a good reputation staying on the BBC as the BBC is seen as a prestige broadcaster around the world. Who's gonna have heard of ITV!

I know what you mean, Emmerdale and Coronation Street, I can't keep up with them, one minute they are in one slot, the next another....

I have only seen Emmerdale at 7pm
and corrie at 7.30
why would there need to move it around? from 5.35? mmm
there could put this along with a new early evening itn news
at 5.30 and have put it on a 5pm
Well if ITV get it it will be on anytime between 5pm - 6pm
If Five get it it will be 6.30pm
Most likley to stay with the BBC. Although if it did go to Five at least they would air it 5 days a week all year round - unless they are forced to take a break.
He was being sarcastic. However I think the problem with keeping up with Emmerdale is more the fact its on 6 a week rather than the slot its in. I would have probabaly carried on watching if it was on 3 or 4 nights like it should be.
Back to Neighbours, and what slot do we think ITV or Five would give it. Five would obviously show it at 6.30pm to create a soap hour with Home and Away from 6pm, and it would probabaly get a lunchtime repeat like Home and Away Does.
Maybe ITV could show it straight after the lunchtime news at 2pm, and again at 5.30pm. It would have to get a 30 minute slot on ITV/Five as they would show adverts.

They would have to take a break like BBC do to prevent us taking over Oz. Five will have to do the same with H&A when they eventually catch up.
One of the beauties of having Neighbours on the BBC is no ad-breaks. I'm surprised the BBC aren't that bothered about the show anymore, mind you if it does leave the BBC, they'll probably just put Doctors on at 1.40pm and extend CBBC to 6pm.
I really beg the BBC not to get rid of Neighbours. Its a daytime TV stalwart and only works on BBC One.
Surely five putting Neighbours on at 6:30 would be suicide, if it got it. Although they have done well with H&A, Neighbours and Hollyoaks are the biggest brands in teen/student soap and putting these two shows on at the same time would be a big no-no. It would make sense to put Neighbours on at 6:00, with H&A moving to 6:30.
