Not quite right...
Firstly Grundy (or whatever the name is going to be) is going to make some Neighbours specials (i.e. not actual Neighbours episodes but something like the Eastenders specials also on BBC3).
Whilst BBC are also THINKING of repeating the 535pm on BBC3 later the same evening.

Has anyone read that there are to be Episodes made for the UK only, as Neighbours is launched on BBC3?

I think repeating Neighbours on BBC Three is an excellent idea. Having two editions so close together and during working hours (1340 and 1735) makes it difficult to view on some occasions. Having a repeat later in the evening would save me having to remember setting the timer record.
What would be even better is a Neighbours omnibus at the weekend on BBC Three. We can live in hope.

To be truly honest I would shake it up a bit. I would move Neighbours completely from BBC1, along with CBBC. Thus moving late afternoon programmes from BBC to BBC1 between approx 315 to 6pm
BBC2 would look like (later afternoon/early evening)
1525 CBBC
1735 Neighbours
1800 MWF Kings Oak
1800 TuTh River City (reapeated from BBC Scotland)
1830 University Challenge, Mastermind, Eggheads, Blockbusters, The Krypton Factor
BBC1 would look like (late afternoon/early evening)
1345 Doctors
1415 Live from Birmingham (new version of Pebble Mill)/The Daytime Play
1515 New British Talk Show Series (based upon The Time...The Place)
1600 Foreign Drama
1645 Ready Steady Cook/The Weakest Link/Bargain Hunt/Other Entertainment Series
1730 Strictly Come Dancing - It Takes Two/Masterchef/The ONE Show/Other Various series'
BBC 3
2200 M Tu Th F - Eastenders
2200 W - The Guide (new entertainment news series)/ Soap specials
2230 Neighbours
2250 Foreign Series
2335 Foreign Comedies

Im surprised that the BBC still show new episodes of Neighbours at lunchtimes with a repeat at teatime. It would be better the other way around with a repeat the following day like FIVE do with Home and Away.

I've never liked that idea what five do, to be brutally honest. It does seem better to show the new episode during the daytime and then the repeat episode later on in the day - basically gives 2 chanes to watch the same episode on the same day, rather than having to try to remember that the repeat is the next day. BBC doesn't do it, ITV never did it and Sky doesn't do it with their programmes!!!

ITV did it with Crossroads Mark 2 though about six months in instead of showing the same episode twice in one day they did repeats the next day.

Possibly on ITV2 or on ITV1 whilst they were waiting for Night&Day to be ready to be shown but I can't remember it being for 6 months!!!!! But they soon got rid of it as it is a real loss leader and viewers will turn off with next-day repeats (that's one of the reason five gave when they stopped doing it for Family Affairs)

Many ITV regions also showed repeats of Corrie the day after they were shown in peak time.
ITV1 showed lunchtime repeats of Crossroads, not ITV2. ITV2 did have an omnibus though.

They were going to do First Look - well that was one of the ideas being discusses a while back, maybe they have just settled with this.
