If I remember correctly the NEW episode was always at lunchtime then the repeat edition was originally repeated the next morning then moved it to the 535pm slot

Looks like your right as I found a tv listing from the first day of the new BBC1 daytime schedule and the 10am slot on the first Monday was a one off preview of the daytime programmes to come. This was replaced on Tuesday by Monday's repeat of the early afternoon edition of Neighbours.

I am intrigued, now, as to what was on the first few days of BBC daytime television. Also when did BBC start its daytime service.

I do know that Neighbours in the UK isn't 21 years old, YET, but would love top know the date it first started on BBC1 (the old Oz Network 7 version before showing the present Oz Network 10 version)

Something I noticed about todays Neighbours on both BBC and RTE, the BBC credits stated the year 2006, while RTE credits had 2005.
Both were the same episode.

Neighbours looks never to be the same again as six new characters prepare to descend on Ramsay Street.

The first phase of fresh blood comprises model and Aussie TV presenter Nicky Whelan alongside former All Saints actress Natalie Saleeba, who played the role of Jessica Singleton in the Australian medical drama for two years.

Two newcomers Ben Lawson and Christian Clarke also joined the show at the same time.

A show source told DS: "All four new characters are in their twenty-somethings and drop-dead gorgeous."

Whelan is to play Pepper, Saleeba will take on the role of Rosetta, while Lawson and Clarke are to appear as Frazer and Will respectively. An insider teased: "One is related to a Ramsay Street regular, another is related to a semi-regular while two are hiding dark secrets."

The final two actors to complete the lineup are the fruits of a competition which ran in Australian teen magazine Dolly which involved Neighbours actors taking part in workshops around the country in an X Factor-style search for young talent.

The finals, which were held three weeks ago, saw Adelaide Kane being chosen to play Lolly, the daughter of Lou Carpenter (Tom Oliver), while Sam Clark landed the role as Ringo who is connected to one of the four stunning arrivals.

Whelan, Saleeba, Lawson and Clarke have already started filming down under and will be on Australian screens in October (the end of the year in the UK), while youngsters Sam and Adelaide start filming next week, their first episodes looking to air in the new year both in Oz and the UK.

Surprised to see this slot billed in such a way rather than as "Children's BBC"
