They record episodes five months in advance?!?
Shocked

Erm, well yes between five and six I believe.

While mid May's episodes would've been recorded in January, early May's would've been recorded no later than November.

Not quite sure why they do this, it's much more than H&A -- and of course British soaps.

It's probably got something to do with facilitating the panto season...

Yeah, usually our tv shows are filmed months in advance then there's the big non-ratings break we have for the summer holidays

26 days later

Why do they not want ratings at Summertime?

As you maybe aware that when it's Christmas in Austrailia, then it's also Summer over there, meaning that there are fewer people in watching TV, which has been the case forever and will forever remain to do so. I don't think sticking Neighbours on over the Summer is going to boost ratings.

Plus remember the crew probably want a break at some point.

They delayed the 20th anniversary celebrations for a few months so they could get better ratings in July due to their winter despite temperatures being around 15c, lucky beggars lol

I know that British dramas such as EastEnders and The Bill get Christmas off,but do they get Easter off?

In a nut shell, Paul Robinson set Lou's Pub and the Coffee Shop on fire, and they burnt down. He then offered to rebuild the complex in order to curry favour with the residents, but in fact he was working for an evil American company called Affirmacorp, who are desperate to acquire the land on which Ramsey Street is built, so that they can build a massive shopping mall!! Paul then set about convincing the residents that the land was going to be flooded within ten years (despite being on a hill..!), and that their houses would all be compulsarily purchased.

Meanwhile, Harold and Lou have teamed up to run their new "General Store", and Izzy and Max now own the "Scarlett Bar". You may also notice that virtually all of the house sets have been revamped, too - most of them seemingly overnight! Confused

The main reason why it has all been changed though is that loads of the sets etc had asbestos in them.

Do you mean the actual houses on the street they film on, or the interior scenery in a studio.

If the latter then I can pretty much assure you they won't be made of asbestos.
