Absolutely superb! The fact the audience is informed about the whole Christmas Australian break too is great. Wonderful little anorak moment - I bet Network just plugged EastEnders
Maybe if he's on tomorrow they'll be an opinion on the titles. "Personally, I think they're rubbish" is how I'd introduce them.

I think today MAY be the day of the new title sequence, look out for a shocking animated background!

Nice credit sequence though. Not the plain Ten version or the international cartoon background one but a crane camera rotating around the street with the credits on the right. Sadly Network cocked up by squeezing for the ECP.

I actually don't mind the titles at all although I'm not entirely convinced that they match the programme. A new viewer watching these 'simpsons' style titles may not be expecting the current attempted strangulation and cancer storylines, seems a little odd to me... I like the closing titles although surely the point of having them to the right of the screen should mean that the BBC promo can cover up the images of the houses whilst leaving the actor credits the same size but insted they were all shrunk and pushed out of the way, I though they had been designed with this in mind. I'm not sure these titles will last very long. My fave titles I think are the era of the names infront of the characters and the big house numbers in the background, like them a lot, will be interesting to hear the remix of the theme tune in a few weeks time.

Aren't these the titles which were designed by the BBC with the extended version being used from April, meaning we could see the cartoon closing version then. These credits have been designed to incorporate the ECP, but someone forgot that the credits had changed and squeezed them instead of covering up the lefthand part of the screen.

You should have been watching BBC 1 NI... no nasty ECP!
And even a slightly cheeking intro at the top.

"Now don't be confused by the new opening titles, it's not The Simpsons, it's the Neighbours."
I've got to start watching more NI continuity, Network is far too boring.
Incidentally, Scotland also had a clean ending. How can certain nations get away with no ECP whilst others (mainly Network) can't?

Because we're slightly more distanced from Marketing and Media Planning, and have access to different types of clean feed of network's output.
