It seems as if these credits have been designed for the BBC, but the end slides do not fit in at all.

Makes sense, considering how much the BBC contribute towards Neighbours.

I wonder if the BBC will keep this edit or edit it down further, cutting a further 10 seconds. It does not really seem worth it, but it is the BBC. If they do keep this version it would be the first time British viewers have heard the lyric 'Neighbours should be there for one another' in years.

"Neighbours should be there for one another" has always been heard on the BBC.

It has only been on the titles but not on the credits, but I see your point.

Is it me or does the closing theme sound different apart from the duration?

Yeah most of the tracks have been removed. Janine Maunder's singing sounds a bit different as well.

Hmmm..must have been rerecorded I guess? Still, I definitely think that'll be the version we see in terms of style (thank God it's finally ECP-safe!) and the duration is interesting. Either the BBC and Grundy have come to some sort of agreement and we'll see the same credits as those exported elsewhere (Ireland/NZ etc.), effectively another 10secs or it'll be that style, cut down credits and the current BBC arrangement of the tune.

I thought it was Grundy that made the credits, and because of the way the BBC have the titles' length relative to the length of the programme, Grundy made a shorter version for them. It's clear that Grundy does a lot for the BBC, they've had Ian Smith do a TV Licensing advert, and Kym Valentine and Dan Paris do some adverts as well, so it is feasible that they could do credits tailored to the BBC's needs.

On further inspection, it actually doesn't soud different as such. Listen to it closely, it sounds to me like all the tracks are there, but most of them have been lowered in volume, the voice and bass made louder to stand out. Tell me if you think I'm wrong though.

No, it's the same vocals as used from 2002, just remixed slighty, maybe to give it a bit more of a dramatic edge.

A bit of bad editing gives us a full 40 second version -HERE

LOL It isn't that bad.

In those credits at the end where they show the Theme music by.... and the thanks to... was a different colour today when I was watching Neighbours, it was more of a green version of what is in that video... It could be the TV I was watching it on, cos it does change some colours majorly, or it could of been changed, oh well i'll try and cap it tommorow.

Oh, and Zeke I think his name is looks really evil in the opening titles, but then again, when has he not looked evil!

And also Harold is a real **** on Neighbour's at the moment.. well to you guys in the UK he probably doesn't seem an ass, but at the moment he is being really cruel to Paul. (Who I feel sorry for)

The BBC have confirmed they will be using the slightly extended credits and remixed theme song from mid-April.
