I got the press preview dvds up until the end of March, and i think id prefer just to watch them on the TV, while the picture quality is good, it seems direct from Australia, with it fading out with the Neighbours cap at the break, so thats three times i have to hit the fast foward. WIth Home and Away its already merged together.

Is the filmic effect evident on those episodes? I only ask because I read a statement from Five saying that the filmic effect was already implemented on the episodes they received from Freemantle. But as I understand it that is not the way it is shown in Aus?
Yeah, you're right, it's a bit difficult to tell from that. Thanks, though. It's easiest to notice on fast moving shots, which appear much less smooth and more jerky than before. I don't mind it on other shows, but I can't get used to it on Neighbours!
Don't know if anyone can help me on this but here goes. In Neighbours does anyone know if the music used in storylines (like backing music to create an atmosphere in serous or special scenes) is available to buy or obtain anywhere? It's hard to explain exactly what i mean but if you go to the Neighbours website and click on the Videos tab and then watch the 'What's in store' video it's the backing music used in this video. It is quite often used in the programme and it would be really nice if someone has any info on this? Thanks.
I think the offical term is Incidental music, which is played over scenes. These as far as im aware belong to Sony/Fremantle, same as the songs which play in Charlie's.
There was certainly one track that was played in the Coffee shop for quite a few years almost on an endless loop. I don't know what it's called but it was done to it's death i think.

Unfortunately i thought it might be the case that it's owned by Fremantle. Sounds like it's been specially composed for them. Oh well maybe one day it might turn up somewhere i can buy it.
Yea, NeighboursFans is a good place to go to enquire more. I asked one last year for some music that was used. They usually state what is commerical music and avalible to buy, like the song used a lot when Stingray died, or the Arthmatic one for Boyd and Janae scenes.

I'm pretty sure the track you're referring to is made in-house, so isn't available for download. However there are some commercially available tracks used in the show occasionally - look up 'Lior' on iTunes ('This Old Love', 'Bedouin Song', 'Building Ships') who is quite good. Also on Blanche DuBois' MySpace page, 'Lover Do You Wait' is available to download for free - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=147448211

The Dynamic Hepnotics song 'Soul Kind Of Feeling' springs to mind there - they played that to death in the early to mid-90s!
