Well if there won't be any special announcement at 5:35pm, they could always try this one:
"Bringing down the curtain on 22 years of triumphs, tears and tragedy from sunny
Melbourne
now on BBC1. But there might be another exit of sorts with those Ramsay Street Neighbours".

I'd love the BBC to say something like:
"That all from Neighbours here are BBC One, but if you are wondering what happens..."
Then rattle off loads of spoilers
How about if the BBC One announcer said something like this . . .
Intro:
"As from next week, this show moves to pastures new. So, for the final time on BBC One, here's Neighbours."
Outro: (Similar to an earlier suggestion, noy necessarily with these exact words.)
"That's it from our friends and Neighbours of Ramsay Street here on BBC One. From next Monday afternoon at 5.15,
we welcome The Weakest Link. Meanwhile, later tonight, Stacey sets out on a destructive path in EastEnders at 8."
The credit squeeze ECP would have a pic of Anne Robinson and the Weakest Link logo at the top. The caption directly
below that would say "The Weakest Link Monday 5.15", in the usual layout, with the BBC One boxed logo on the right,
and the "bbc.co.uk/weakestlink" website address on the left. The bottom left panel (as you'd expect) would display
what's coming up later tonight on BBC One, hence the mention of tonight's EastEnders by the announcer.
Or something like that. Not long before we find out either way.

Why would the BBC send it off with a soft snuggly feeling when they spent 20+ years making the show what it is and then being dropped like a stone all in the name of short term cash.
