Don't know if I've mentioned this in this thread already, but during a Neighbours documentary filmed in the last few months to be on five sometime soon the cast were overheard to be saying "Same time new place" as a further little catchprase for the promos. I know in those promos already posted there is already the "Same street new place" or something, but with five moving their 5:30 news to 5 it looks good for the 5:30 episodes.
What will also be interesting will be the lunchtime/afternoon episodes. Firstly if they show one at all and if they do, will it be a repeat of yesterdays 5:30 effort which I believe Home & Away does, or will it be the first showing of that days episode like the BBC do. It will be foolish to change the order around but I can see it happenng

I would imagine that they will do the same as Home and Away and have the repeat the following lunchtime around 12.30pm.
That's what happened when H&A moved from ITV to five. ITV used to have first showing in afternoon followed by early evening repeat.
I can see five doing the same to Neighbours!!!
I know BBC did that when they first started showing Neighbours but, for me, it does seem very illogical. What is wrong with first showing in the afternoon followed by repeat in early evening - at least its the same episode on the same day!!!
One question - will Neighbours add to the quota of home grown drama like H&A does???
Im liking the slightly jazzed up new theme tune. The electric guitar adds some nice spice to it.
Yes, me too. Initially, I didn't like it. I liked the traditonal Neighbours theme and the new mix seemed a bit radical. However, after a few months it has really grown on me and is even catchier than the previous one!
When Neighbours is on five, do we think the end credits will run in full or will they be end capped? Also it will be interesting to see if the Ten network endcap makes an appearance? I know Home & Away gets the 7 endcap but i guess it depends on a few things.

The end credits in Australia as of 2008 are 19 seconds in length!
The reality is we don't yet know if Neighbours will be shown on 11th February or if it will just be promotional material. But going by the promos, it looks like five will start screening episodes from that date.
It looks likely the BBC will cease showing Neighbours the week before (In my opinion). I dont think five would be so stupid to skip episodes or start showing the 2008 season while BBC are still showing 2007. It would not be in fives best interests.
I wonder what will happen with Irish broadcasts of the show on RTE. RTE currently screen episodes simulcast with the BBC at 5.35pm. Five (like Home and Away) have negotiated first european rights to the show.Do you think this might effect Irelands screenings or can they screen the same episode 5 mins later??
You can watch a preview of the EXPECTED first episode on five by following the link below.

Rumour has it though that five are moving home and away to 5pm to create just one evening news bulletin at 6pm. Anyone else heard about this???
