I was just searching on the internet and managed to find this website with some of the opening and closing titles to Neighbours over the years - and noticed that Neighbours in Australia seems to be sponsored... by Travelodge and Australian Airlines.

Does anyone know if this is still the case?

Two items of note from today's show :-

The mention of the word "crap" twice in the show. Me hasn't got anything against the word just seems weird hearing it in Neighbours and besides, I've only got use to them saying the word "spunk" lol

We've heard worse than that before on the show. The only cut for language the BBC have ever made was when Lou said "b******s" in 2001. We've heard thm say "bloody" and "bugger" loads of times. They are not really 'swear' words in Australia. They can somethimes be used in an endearing context - e.g. "You old bugger" can be meant in a friendly-jokey way as well as a negative way.

Very surprised at this, for a variety of reasons:

Arrow All three were introduced under the present regime, under Ric Pellizeri. All three were developed to fill a specific role and in the case of the Bishops, with Lil's son Luka and her mum Svetlanka on standby, they can't be short of storyline material.

Arrow Should they each not have more than a year to run on their reported 3 year contracts they signed in 2003?

Arrow If true, just what is the show doing? The new opening sequence and sudden influx of younger characters with the Timmins still to come, is the show trying to compete properly in Oz with Home and Away and if so, is this at the expense of the more mature tastes of UK viewers?

Arrow The Bishops have loads of connections with Sky, Harold, etc. Just what would Harold do without them or is his head next to roll?

Arrow This 'new era' that the 2005 seasons is meant to represent seems to represent just more change, first Lassiters and now more new sets and characters, for a show with a typically conservative audience, I hope they're not doing too much too soon.

Either way, could all be rumour, just have to wait and see I guess.

Was tonights episode edited by the BBC, as it did not showed Conner getting kidnapped?

I don't think it was, although I wouldn't put it past that lot. They edit things for the most pathetic reasons these days.

Checking the episode summaries on Neighboursfans.com, it looks like that happens in tomorrows episode (11th May) The cliffhanger from today was Frank in a blond wig at the bustop reaching for something in his coat probably to knock Connor out with.

Carmella and Paul Robinson are featuring a lot even though they are just guest starring. Are they going to join the programme full time?

I think Paul Robinson might be as he is soon to appear in the new credits updates in Ausie land.

Carmella is not though, and wont be in the titles.

That's a shame because she's the only real knockout beauty on that show and Neighbours lags behind Home And Away in that department.

I wonder how much longer the burning fire of Lou's Place which is found on the End Credits will stay on for. It's been nearly two weeks since the Fire, all seems like old news and seems very out of place.

I've been perplexed by that too. Usually, the credits are updated for each episode, but that last still has been left for some reason.

It's because it's the background to the legal information and the final credits which are kept the same every episode - before the fire it used to have the Lassiters Complex, which would now probably be even more out of place than the fire. I presume it will stay like that until the place is rebuilt.

Well, the shot of the fire has finally been replaced with a shot of the new bar in the Aussie credits.
