What do you mean? The subtitle of this thread is "It's much better than "Home and Away" "
ETA: Freeview has now edited his post to try and make me look stupid. It was previously a comment bashing Neighbours. That was what I was replying to.

No offence but Neighbours has been on BBC1 for years, they are not suddenly going to waste two to three hours of airtime on a old Aussie soap!

Are there any plans for the BBC to show an omnibus of Neighboours' at the weekend? Sunday mornings or mid afternoons' would be a good slot!

Although BBC One clearly isn't going to give Neighbours an omnibus anytime soon, I've always thought that it should have a late-night repeat on BBC Three. The timeslots it is currently in are quite difficult for a fair chunk of the population to catch, and I do think they might get quite a good audience - especially from those who grew up watching Neighbours but now can't because they're at work.

I'll second that. I hardly ever get to see it since i left school nearly 7 years ago.

Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I've just read that Linda Hartley (who played Kerry Bishop - Harold's daughter and Sky's mother) is returning as a character called Gabby. The storyline centres around her being the double of Kerry. I wonder if this Gabby turns out to be a long-lost twin or something? Hmm...
With Mark Little (Joe Mangel, Kerry's husband) returning soon, I guess he'll be tied into this storyline?

There was a rather pointless edit in this episode that came right at the end of the episode. The Network Ten version showed Dylan bend down in his car, pick up his steering wheel lock and get out of the car. The episode then ended.
The BBC snipped this out and all that happened was we had a rather truncated ending. Dylan bends down then begins to open the car door and then a nasty jump cut to the credits. What's the point in editing about 2 seconds out an episode? Neighbours is only around 22 minutes, so it can't be for timing reasons.

Possibly the BBC received their episode with the 'Neighbours' end-of-part super intact, so made the cut to remove this? Doubtful, though. Were there any cuts at the other commercial-break points?

No, the rest of the episode was intact.
The BBC now receive their episodes without the end of part bumpers apparently.

Yes, I realised that; just thought this might have been a fluke or something. It will be interesting to see if tomorrow's recap is cut at all, perhaps indicating a censorship issue.

It was a censorship issue. I got a friend of mine who works at the BBC to try and find out for me. The Programme Acquisition team's response was
There ya go. However, they went and showed what they'd snipped in the recap and following scene of today's episode. What was the point in snipping it then?

We very slightly trimmed the end of this episode to lose some of the threat of violence that’s implied when Dylan jumps out of the car with a steering lock.
We felt that the edited scene would still convey Dylan’s quick temper.
