If you thought Skins was good, wait until you see Nearly Famous...
... then you'll realise how good Skins really is!
Hidden away in an 11pm slot with virtually no promotion (I've seen two ads for it in the last couple of days compared to the months of unmissable Skins promos), it was obvious E4 had something to hide. There isn't a single repeat screening - not even in the small hours of the morning.
And it's fair to say that on every count it fails to measure up to Skins - from the lead characters through to the music and the actual content itself.
However, it's probably worth a second chance so next week you can compare it against itself. There was some crafty camera work throughout and it's put together quite well - but the core storyline is weak, focusing (in this episode at least) far too much on the setting (stage school) and not enough on the characters - three of which actually are quite interesting. The fourth is played by someone from the Hannah Tointon Theatre School!
Anyone else see it - what do you think?
