Some big news from the States, rumours of which have been brewing in recent weeks, is that Jay Leno is to be replaced (again) as host of NBC's Tonight Show - this time by current Late Night presenter Jimmy Fallon. The switch will take place in February 2014, when the show will also return to New York from Los Angeles.
This transition seems to be much more amicable than the Leno/O'Brien disaster of a few years back - NBC will certainly hope it doesn't backfire again. They're already losing the breakfast show battle to ABC, they won't want the 11.35pm slot going the same way.

Hopefully CNBC will choose to broadcast the 'Tonight' show again at 11pm weeknights, having switched to 'Late Night' last year. It would be a shame to lose Fallon from our own screens.
