Some good points there, though from a UK perspective if it leads to a strengthening in US cable drama it's only a good thing for us as generally the best imports come from cable rather than the networks anyway.

NBC by looking for short term gains are giving themselves longterm problems. They are trying to save money but this won't save a network. Ben Silverman has been terrible for NBC and I'm not sure he can turn it around.

I think Jay made a huge mistake and should have gone to another network.

Could it be one less place for dramas to be made though? I'm thinking about what happens when other channels have their quota of dramas and have no space for anymore. That potentially could lead to less drama because of 5 extra slots not being avalable.
