re Trevor McDonald - I'm not exactly sure an event such as this needs any gravitas.

Perhaps being able to deal with drunk female heckling from the back would be more of an advantage.

Well so is the brits, and they've hosted by a whole load of loonies. Not always badly.

I'm sure somebody could come in and do a much better job than Mr McDonald (Who's popularity is, I'm sure, overestimated)

Not really, it's really just a big opinion/popularity poll. Doesn't have the reputation of respect in the industry like the BAFTA, Emmy, Comedy or RTS awards

Maybe Hollyoaks will win and surprise everyone!

As for Inside Soap... well buying an extra soap magaizine is kind of sad - it's not real afterall. Why waste money when you can just watch the soaps!?

You can't compare the Brits to the NTAs. The Brits are very well respected in the industry. The NTAs don't really have that respect.

I thought Trevor may get this award! This whole show has been soooooooo very predicatable. Alright, he deserves it but I still feel this whole show has been a farce.

I don't see what you're trying to say. The Brit Awards are far more respected than the NTA's. There's no disputing that.

Its only £1 and it includes TV Listings too- besides I only read the articles about the soaps I watch - ie Corrie, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale etc I just get mad cos the editor is so Eastenders biased and then has the cheek to appear on Corrie St Secrets as if Corrie is his fave soap.

The Brits are well respected as they are awarded by a trade body, the BPI, Ditto the BAFTAS, Oliviers, Oscars etc

The National Television awards only exsist to be a TV programme, they were created by ITV and the cynic in me would saw that it was created just to give ITV programmes some awards!
