See Ant and Dec didn't go up for that one, so they arn't hogging the limelight at all!

Quite, and to be honest I think Ant & Dec are perhaps some of the most modest entertainers around. They certainly don't appear to have inflated ego's even with all of their success, unlike some.

Oh, and I agree, this event doesn't seem to suit Trevor at all. It's more showbiz, not sure it needs a formal style of presentation.

I think Shane Ritchie is one of the best actors in Eastenders. His character is the most believable and at least different to all the other stereotypical cocknies. I think he's very natural when it comes to acting so I hope he wins. He did, after all do the acting schools like everyone else.

Is there a news and current affairs category this year?

Whataday I dont care if GMTV promoted it - you would do the same if you were in their position, they didnt hold a gun to people's heads and tell them to vote, everyone has the choice of who to pick.

But it's not exactly fair, is it? I expect you'd be up in arms if the NTA's voting details popped up in the middle of EastEnders and not Coronation Street.

Well Corrie do similar things. Take for example that Granada computer incentive thing they kept promoting. Also, in The Bill they used to have ITV Digital stickers everywhere. Fair play to GMTV for plugging themselves! Anyway, GMTV can get away with it. If they popped up adverts in soaps there would be a public outcry!

Judging by the cheering, Shane Ritchie is a favourite.

He's won it... and his son is called Shane Ritchie too.

Yes there are less awards this year - they got rid of Best Advert, Best Daytime Prog, Best Documentary and maybe a few others. The only new one is Best Reality Show.

Shane Ritchie has won the award - why am I not suprised. Rolling Eyes

Oh yeh, they've dropped best Daytime show, wasn't that GMTV's category last time ?

I bet Countdown and Richard & Judy are fed up about that one. Don't know why they dropped that one.

Would that be after last time when Big brother was nominated under 'factual'

Well done to Shane Ritchie. I for one have no problem with that at all.

Is it me or aren't there as many awards this year as before? And the nominations don't seem very good to me... No mention of Chris Tarrant or millionaire! lol!

Millionaire took the first award of the evening didn't it?

Anyway, Shane Ritchie summed the whole awards up: "being most popular doesn't mean being the best".

Yeah thats right S E - Best Daytime was normally Countdown V Richard and Judy, and also Neighbours was nominated last year too. This year however Neighbours was put in the soap category but hasnt made the final 4.
