But when will I get it, the magazine is supposed to arrive on a Tuesday, it says so in the letter I received from them, but it didnt arrive until today, 1 day after its been on sale in the shops which defeats the whole object of subscribing, although to be fair im sure the post has a lot to do with it

Can I just point out that, although I don't know the structure of this for Inside Soap, the point of subscribing is usually not to receive it ahead of everybody else (you must have no life to be that desperate) but to save money on it. Do they do a, say, 12 issues for the price of 10 or whatever? Must do, nobody'd subscribe otherwise Smile

Neil the reason I subscribe to Inside Soap in the first place was cos when it was fortnightly subscribers had it on a Saturday before it went out in the shops on a Tuesday, I had more time to read it over the weekend than I did on a Tuesday cos I have a life which involves working during the week, if i had no life it wouldnt make a difference which day I got it on would it. I believe they do have a discount of 29% if you subscribe but money isnt really an issue so I didnt subscribe for that reason but to get it earlier. And at the time I subscribed it stated clearly in the terms and conditions of subscribing you are to get it before it goes on sale in the shops, its there in black and white so getting it a day after when ive seen it in the shops is quite poor really.

Um, I didn't ask you to justify why you subscribe Smile Although 29% is an odd figure in saving terms... Although I think all these soap magazines are a waste of money anyway, just like all the music magazines (and MTV and all its offshoots) but I digress.

Re: T&C - it also probably says that they are not responsible for any delays or anything not in their control or anything (force majure) that means you get your copy late. Maybe there was a problem at the printers? I used to subscribe to an 8-bit computer magazine which often got held up at the printer because it broke down... Maybe it's a one off problem?

It was based on the fact that the awards are advertised on all the types of platforms which are generally used by those who watch more ITV than anything else, ie tabloid newspapers, ITV1, GMTV, This Morning, the various commercial TV mags etc.

The fact that EastEnders has won NTAs in the past is not relevant. It is still more difficult for them to do so than Coronation Street.

But that doesn't work out. The Sun is britains most popular newspaper, BBC One is apparently Britain's most popular channel. There must be a fair number of Sun reading, BBC One watching, "commercial" TV magazine readers out there. (Although the Radio Times is as commercial as the rest of them).

Please let's not pretend that the BBC is only watched by the chattering clases.

But you know it makes sense.

There are 2 categorys missing from those listed in the TV Times - Best Comedy Programme and Comedy Performer - I forget what the nominations are for those now.

The factual entertainment category always has some strange nominations - Big Brother was in it last year before it got put in the new Reality TV category. GMTV is the only one I watch out of those 4 so I choose them although it would be better to have a Breakfast TV Category - RI:SE V GMTV - no contest really

Ive also set up a poll so people can vote on here for their fave Soap- the toughest category to win in the whole awards, they always leave this one until the very end too.

How can anyone suggest that Brian Capron is the best actor? Alright the storyline did what it inteded by boosting flagging ratings but best actor ?? I hardly think so. Pantomime villan, surely?

Just because The Sun and BBC One are popular, it doesn't mean they have the same audience.

Statistics show that people who watch more BBC One are likely to read the Radio Times and Weekend (Daily Mail). On the other hand people who watch more ITV are more likely to read TV Quick and the other IPC-type magazines.

Will the other programmes in GMTV's category be showing a similar message? Somehow I think not! Rolling Eyes And before you say "that's their problem", could you really see an advert for the NTA on Bargain Hunt or Life Of Grime?

Well if ITV brigade read TV Quick how come BBC soap Eastenders took most of the awards?

I was right about All About Soap liking Corrie, we had yet another Corrie cover for this months mag which was out today, it was Karen and Tracey-love on the cover

Actually David Dickenson was on Chris Moyles Radio 1 show yesturday where they shamelessly plugged the vote more than GMTV did, they must have repeated the numbers at least 10 times over each phone & text, though David didn't understand the text bit at first, Moyles explained it him, and he said 'No wonder I haven't been able to text, I've been trying all day!'.

That doesn't apply at all. All those millions who watch EastEnders every week are more likely to get a TV mag which is focused on soap and watch a breakfast show that has soapstars appearing. Outside of this forum there isn't such a thing as an 'ITV viewer' or a BBC one, most people watch both sides

Bargain Hunt won the award for Best Daytime show last year (this category no longer exists this year) but I dont think they deserved it, I would have preferred GMTV or Neighbours to win. Ive noticed Neighbours isnt even nominated for anything this year, its Hollyoaks, EE, Coro St and Emmerdale up for Best Soap.

That's because by your own admission, the only programme you watch on the BBC is Neighbours, and you are somewhat of an ITV fanatic. Surely even you can acknowledge that the phenomenal success of Bargain Hunt was worthy of an award?
