Ah well, I'm over it now. Well done EE... we'll get you next year once we have Lee from Steps getting off with Todd Grimshaw. Kat Slaters low bust won't be enough to keep viewers then!

Unfortunately, Chris, I think if Corrie cant win this year then they never will. After the great year they had with Richard Hillman not to mention Peter/Shelly/Lucy and they still dont win it then I dont think they ever will.

Oh well at least they showed the clip of Shelly and Juicy Lucy LOL

I don't suppose you saw Today with Des and Mel today, well David Dickenson was on, and they made a point of giving his number out.

Yes, and Des & Mel is an ITV programme, isn't it? Rolling Eyes

There are ITV people and BBC viewers. I'm not saying that people watch ALL BBC or ALL ITV, but most people watch one more than the other.

So a roundup:

BBC1 - 5 (EastEnders x 4 and My Family)

ITV1 - 8 (Ant and Dec x 2, James Nesbitt, WWTBAM?, GMTV, I'm a Celebrity, A Touch of Frost, Trevor McDonald)

CH4 - 0

Well the above shows that BBC1 is relying on EastEnders to win and a bad night for CH4 with them receiving a big fat zero

Looking back at the start of this thread.

Of course Corrie has a better chance in the NTA! They are ITV biased. We've been down this road before though.

LOL at the ITV News:

"... and it's had bigomy, serial killers and gay kisses in some of the most explosive storylines in the show's history. It's been much better than Eastenders, in fact it's really brilliant. Coronation Street is officially the best soap ever - it kicks ass! But did it win at the NTA? Nina Nanaar is at the National Television Awards. Nina...

Thank you John. Well I'm quite annoyed John. Corrie didn't win. That fat slapper from Eastenders did. Trevor won one though! Go Trev! ITV News rules! Back to you."

Well, that was the general gist of it.

I was rather annoyed that Corrie didn't win any awards, they did deserve at least one, rather suprising that this year Corrie has been proved more popular than Eastenders in the ratings. My Family's speech was quite poor, it gives the idea that the guy who plays Nick is probably weird in real life, but they deserved it. I was also suprised that Robert Linsday wan't there either. But where were programmes like The Office and Phoenix Nights? Some of the best programmes which have been on recently and recieved no nomination at all, but those have been recognised by the Bafta people, so really it's better than a NTA. I was glad to see that Trev got the best award, nice montage too.

"Now News At Ten, In percussion with Trevor Mc Donald"

When they were going to present his award I thought it was going to be Lenny Henry or Trev's brother, as CT said that it was someone who respected you.

No, the above shows that EastEnders is a Popular programme and is likely to appeal more to the type of person to vote for the NTAs. That type of person is also likely to watch more ITV.

Just one question - on the clip of Trevor McDonut reporting on the death of Diana - it had him sitting in the "ITV News" studio with all the lights out - They didn't have that studio that early did they ('97)?

Yeah, very odd. Has anyone got a picture of it they could upload? It looked like a mockup sequence of 'what if Diana had died and we were using the current studio'. Why on earth was it filmed?

Cheers, Asa

Just spell out who 'that type' is.

I dont understand how people could prefer that fat cow over Suranne Jones - That award was a complete farce. I would have liked Suranne or Katy (Lucy Barlow) to win that award. Katy looked nice tonight dont you think.
