It seems to have gone alot quieter this year, as they usually advertise voting around July, but now they've given it 3 weeks, though I assume it's Phone and Text votes only, I assume they have dropped voting at the Post Office.

But I hope Corrie wins this year, they do deserve it.

Plus we might hear Ant and Dec say sh*t again.

I'd vote for the following:

Most Popular Entertainment Presenter - Ant and Dec
Most Popular Serial Drama - Coronation Street
Most Popular Newcomer - Charley Webb
Most Popular Actress - Amanda Redman or if it comes down to a soap actress then Suranne Jones. It better not be you know who
Most Popular Actor - Brian Capron, although I bet Shane Ritchie will get it
Most Popular Drama - I don't watch any of them with any sort of regularity so I'll leave that one
Most Popular Reality Show - Im A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here
Most Popular Factual Entertainment Programme - GMTV
Most Popular Entertainment Programme - Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

I think there was voting forms available at the post office, although im not 100% sure as I never got round to getting a form so I voted online instead, and by phone today!

I think Amanda Redman or Amanda Burton will win Best Actress, I dont think her from EE will win it, and I dont think Suranne will win either. Brian Capron really should win Best Actor, although yes it will probabaly go to Shane Ritchie Rolling Eyes especially as its been 6 months since Capron left Corrie but it might be David Jason?
Ant and Dec might for the second year running win 3 awards! 1 for Im a Celeb, one for Saturday night takeaway and one for Best Entertainment presenters! Although I did prefer Big Brother to Im a Celeb, I think Ant and Dec are much better presenters than Davina.
As for Best Drama I watch The Bill and Bad Girls out of the 4 nominated but I think The Bill deserves it more, BG has won it loads of times.

The ones im most bothered about are Most Popular Soap and Newcomer which *should* go to Kate Ford - she is great!
Re Most Popular Soap, after the year they have had I think Corrie will win it and rightly so, if they managed to win it in 1998, 1999 and 2000 (2001/2 it went to EE) then im sure they can win this year, 2003 has been a better year than 2000 definately. Hollyoaks and Emmerdale are both good but nothing comes close to Corrie - great to see Hollyoaks replacing Brookie as the 4th soap in this category, they deserve some recognition even if they have no chance of winning - this is a two horse race between EE and Corrie.

I can't believe that Eastenders won 'Inside Soap Awards' along with awards for Alfie and Kat. Shows you what type of people generally read inside soap.

I agree with you chris - can I just say the reason EE won those awards was cos I-soap is so EE biased it just aint funny, so more EE fans buy it and so EE got more votes. Unless Corrie or Emmerdale has a really major storyline like Richard Hillman, Peter/Shelly/Lucy or Chris/Charity/Cain the cover goes to EE, the last 4 weeks EE has got the cover but next week according to the preview Tracey reveals some big secret, so big we get the lovely Kate Ford on the cover. But when will I get it, the magazine is supposed to arrive on a Tuesday, it says so in the letter I received from them, but it didnt arrive until today, 1 day after its been on sale in the shops which defeats the whole object of subscribing, although to be fair im sure the post has a lot to do with it, if I-soap send them 1st class on a Monday then its up to the post to make sure it arrives on a Tuesday. I am not renewing my subscription when it expires and I may not even bother buying it at all, think i'll stick to All About Soap as they like Corrie, in the last 12 months Corrie got 7 covers while EE got 5.

*Inside Soap Rant Over*

I do think Corrie has a better chance in the NTA as its voted for by the general public not the readers of an EE biased magazine.

What I'd like to know is does Kat Slater or Phil Mitchell appear in every single EastEnders storyline. Because notice that it isn't just EastEnders that appear everyweek on the cover of WoTV, its one of those two every time!

Of course Corrie has a better chance in the NTA! They are ITV biased. We've been down this road before though.

Yes and I'm not sure what your basis of the opinion was at the time, especially as EastEnders have won so many times

What are you talking about! Of course they are not biased, people are free to vote for who they want, everyone can vote not just ITV viewers.

Can I just point out that, although I don't know the structure of this for Inside Soap, the point of subscribing is usually not to receive it ahead of everybody else (you must have no life to be that desperate) but to save money on it. Do they do a, say, 12 issues for the price of 10 or whatever? Must do, nobody'd subscribe otherwise Smile

It was based on the fact that the awards are advertised on all the types of platforms which are generally used by those who watch more ITV than anything else, ie tabloid newspapers, ITV1, GMTV, This Morning, the various commercial TV mags etc.

The fact that EastEnders has won NTAs in the past is not relevant. It is still more difficult for them to do so than Coronation Street.
