And since Masked Singer was recorded before she got in trouble with the law, it is technically possible for her to have been on the show.

ITV hiring Gervais to make drink driving jokes aimed at Ant and bullying jokes at Phil is pretty unlikely.

Gervais isn't funny anyway, just smug.

It’s not that type of show anyway. It’s traditionally been an entertaining, cozy awards show for ITV viewers.

To the point where you know that Ant and Dec and Mrs Brown's Boys will win again.

David Walliams has reportedly decided not to host next year.

Hardly surprising if so judging by the reaction he got this year.

Probably go to a safe pair of hands then - Emma Willis or Davina McCall maybe.

After his Masked Singer stint Joel Dommett might be in the running although after the reaction David Walliams got any comedians might be wary of going near it.

I didn’t think Walliams was that bad really. These award show gigs feel like a bit of a poisoned chalice, nobody ever seems to go down particularly well. Even Dermot O’Leary used to get a fair bit of criticism each year and he’s what you’d consider a “safe pair of hands.” Surprised he left, seems n odd thing to give up. Maybe with X Factor gone they might persuade him to return next year?
