Well it looks like its 2 1/2 hours long as well between 8.00pm-10.30pm. Half an hour too long I think, 2 hours would be enough especially as it isnt live. Still I expect it will get good viewing figures for the night on ITV1.

We can still vote on the website - the shortlist is up now with the top 4 or 5 in each category.

It will win its timeslot probably, but it won't be as high as it would have been. I think it's because ITV prefer it on a Wednesday, but then move the actual ceremony to Wednesday, surely?

But do ITV actually own the Awards?

No, I don't think so. They 'sponsor' them so I'm sure they'd have some influence on what happens.

Obviously not enough if they can't have the Awards shifted to Wednesday for a live broadcast. You just know the power hogging morons at ITV would try their best to do it.

But I dont think they want to show it live. Surely its their choice if they show it live or not. There is no reason why they couldnt show it on a Tuesday unless there is live fooball that week.

Bingo. Just checked. For once, it can't be helped.

Im sure the same happened last year as well, so it could be for that reason why its not live. Or because of what happened last time it was live they wont risk it again.

ITV aren't going to shell out for the rights just to shunt them over to ITV4. Matches are only on ITV4 when they clash with another match on ITV1. If there's only one match it goes on ITV1 - I'm sure. Plus it's a big club playing which can sometimes bring in a good audience for ITV.

Sometimes yes. I always get the feeling that the broadcasters would put football over everything and anything though - including nuclear war.

It's certainly not my cup of tea, never been much of a football fan - but I can understand why ITV would opt for the football.

What do people think of this 'Best TV Contender' award, which is basically 'best Big Brother contestant or Carol Thatcher'

I think it's quite telling how, we've got Noel Edmonds who is likely to win his first NTA ever after years of broadcasting, yet someone like Chantelle is to win one straightaway

I agree. They seem to be introducing a new category every year and they get more ridiculous. However, I guess it reflects the current TV climate, filled with reality TV shows. I guess it's fair that the people who entertain us are honoured too.

Why the hell should a reality tv contestant get an award? I have a feeling Pete will win and I can only imagine how cringeworthy his acceptance speech will be. Time to switch off for a few minutes at that point I think. If I had to choose id like Princess Nikki to get it as at least she was entertaining.

My friend and I have been getting everyone we know to vote Corrie and X Factor so we've done all we can to make sure our fave shows win!

No wonder it's not live!
