No, the last TV Times Awards were in 1990 and the first NTAs were in 1995. Of course, the problem with doing things like that post-1991 is that the other listings magazines would give them no coverage at all.
Funnily enough there was a similar winning streak in the TV Times awards because Wogan won Favourite Man on TV every year for a decade or more, much to everyone's dismay. Although in the TV Times awards a couple of people were ineligible because they were in "the TV Times Hall of Fame", whatever that was - I know Eamonn Andrews was one of them.
I watched the show this year and I think its time we had a new host for this show, Dermot o Dreary's, jokes (I use this term very loosely) all fell flatter than the Norfolk Broads, even the opening sequence was duller than a Brexit debate, and there were more mistakes in the show this year then I can ever remember, For next year I think we need a completely new presenter(s), and no not Ant And Dec, nor Holly Willabooby,(assuming ITV actually have some other presenters to call on) ha yes if hes not doing Dr Who Bradley Walsh might be a good contender, also I think its time that the clip sequences should all have a pre recorded voice over, as most other awards seem to do now thus avoiding the issues with the award presenters having to do the difficult task of having to watch a screen and read from a list at the same time which several of them seemed to find very difficult this year.

And lets not forget that the "Ant & Dec Award" was previously the "Michael Barrymore Award" at the NTAs each year until his troubles.

Doctor Who isn't why Bradley was absent. If it was, Jodie Whittaker wouldn't have been present at the awards.
Watching it last night, it just seemed so unrehearsed. Time for a reboot, new host (sorry Dermot), new direction and new venue: the O2 is just so big for that type of event, it just sucks the atmosphere out. It would be better coming from the Royal Festival Hall, Odeon Leicester Square, Royal Albert Hall or even Excel. There were so many empty seats front stage when it started I guess people were stuck in a log jam through the Blackwall Tunnel. Suppose it has to stay quite London centric as so many involved are working the next day, and can I ask are online providers excluded (no SKY, NETFLIX or Amazon Prime) as it's the NTA's?
I find the NTA's so boring to watch now. In years gone by it was a real tv event. But now its almost the same winners year after year.
How many times has This Morning won Daytime and we have had the same comments year after year about Holly and Phil having to present the show the next day - yawn!
Agree with the comments about Ant and Dec - they really shouldn't be nominated as a duo. It entertainment presenter not presenters! And Dec has hosted with Holly in the past year so doesn't only present with Ant. So what if one of them won several years before the other, its up to the public if they prefer one or the other.
Whilst its good to see Emmerdale winning Best Soap after never getting a look in for years, even thats become predictable that they are winning now over their rival soaps as they have done for the past 3 years. Personally I thought Emmerdale was the worst soap out of the 3 I watch (Corrie, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks) this year. I think Emmerdale had quite a poor year (2018) and Corrie and Hollyoaks whilst not perfect, have been far better.
