I've noticed that this year's NTAs doesn't have an aftershow party on ITV2. Ironically, tonight's show is actually described as a "special 18th birthday spectacular".
I wonder if this could mean the end of aftershow parties for all awards programmes on ITV2, or if it's just for the NTAs. I suppose with the Brit awards next month, we'll soon find out.
The Brits is probably more lucrative in terms of sponsorship and is a closer match to the ITV2 target audience. My guess is it will simply depend on the individual occasion, the popularity with the ITV2 target demographic and the logistics of the broadcast.
It seems very flat to me! The audience sound is virtually non existent, they read out the name of the programme 10secs after the clip starts with the title of the show, Dermot is particularly dying on his arse and the audio seems muffled. Agree with the flat opening to the show. Only exciting bit so far is Holly Willoughby...very poor so far!
One thing I found a bit strange was the choice of channel logos used during the opening titles: BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, E4 and ITV.
E4 is obviously the odd one out, and I'm sure Channel 5 has been included in the past.
E4???? That's ludicrous!! WHY???
Well simply no shows from Channel 5 have been nominated. Not even Big Brother or the Australian soaps. I presume there must be one show nominated that is on E4.
The logos for 1-5 have been flashed up at the start for years and years even with no programmes from Channel 5. At guess, perhaps post-DSO they've decided they don't have to stick to showing just the 5 PSBs?

Awful awards staging this year. If they can't utilise the space at the O2 effectively then they should get back to the Royal Albert Hall.
Very unimpressed. Time for a revamp for 2014. Dermot didn't impress me either. Reinstating Sir Trev would be nice but a more competent presenter than Dermot was tonight would be a start.
Talking of Sir Trev, I don't think he'd be impressed that the NTA's is making News at Ten 6 minutes late!
