(While I'm here)
Ahh - The NTA. A totally pointless piece of television which was formally created to provide Grampain Television with an excuse to go to the ITC and say it forfilled it's peak time network television quota.
The link with Grampian is still there. The Executive Producer of the NTA is George Mitchell, the former Director of Programmes at Grampian.
Where was Bruce Forsyth at the National television Awards? All week I've been watching him in trailers arriving at the Royal Albert Hall. When it came to the show, he was nowhere in sight!!!
Mind you, he might have been as disapopointed with the X-Factor's award for Best Entertainment Programme as I was. Best Humiliation Programme or Best Programme to Find A Singer You'll Never Hear Of Again, maybe!!!

I thought it was good, but not the same when you can read in the papers who has won etc. Peter Kay was great as he is always and just thought I would tell you that little girl who came up with Paul O'Grady (Alex) is my little sisters best mate at school, so my sister is a bit jealous now as she has met loads of stars, lol!

Most popular event covers more than just sport, so this year's nominees could probably include The Ashes, Live Aid, Pope Funeral, Champions League Final etc.
I also reckon that GMTV was put under the wrong category, it is not a Daytime show it is a Morning show.
There should have been another category 'Best Morning Show'
I noticed there were no obituries to honour those stars who have left us this year. I think this year would have been most appropriate - what with deaths of popular people such as Sir John Mills, Richard Whiteley, Ronnie Barker to name a few.
It could easily have been fitted in, as I'm sure the programme actually finished early - so they either had it, but ITV cut it out in editing, or they didn't and decided to finish early...
