Seems to be the fashion now just to have a mic, rather than podium!

So, Anthony Cotton won "Most Popular Newcomer" - seven years after his big break. Surely Billie Piper should have been a contender. And Royal Mail counted the votes - that explains how EastEnders won then!

The categories need a bit of sort out though - there really aren't that many quiz shows or even reality shows now, and there are no categories for sport or news.

I can see it now
"And the nominations are, BBC News and the Boxing Day Tsunami"
Audience: whooo!! yeaaaah!
"The July 7th attacks, an ITV News Special"
whoooooo!!

Ever since Big Brother started the factual category has been a bit unbalanced, with serious docs mixed in with reality type docs

I seem to remember Kate Ford got a little hyped up about something last year or was it the Soap awards?

Loved the programme, except the Saturday Night Takeaway style audience. Very annoying.

Those women were dreadful. Screaming 'Nigel! Nigel!' when the nominations for most popular actor were read out. They weren't half pleased when Christopher Eccleston won, did you hear them booing? As if Nigel "Wooden" Harman was their god, he can't even act for goodness sake. They only fancy him.

Peter Kay stole the show again, loved him, especially when he went on about Chico from 'The X Factor", well said Peter, well said.
