What a pile of shyte. This should have been shown as part of CITV.

I haven't been watching the show tonight but I do get the general jist of it and from what has been said on here I would have to agree with what the majority of people are saying. I think the Brits and Record of the Year are enough for one year and thats how it should be.

Though it's something would you see on ITV2 or on a Sunday afternoon, alá the old Poll Winners Party, something which shouldn't be on ITV1 at 9pm on a Wednesday.

Well you do seem drawn to watch TV you don't enjoy. Very Happy

Well there is a strange compulsion to watch bad TV - for me, anyway (I'm sure some others will agree!) - if just to gain some enjoyment from the sheer awfulness of it! Very Happy

This show seems like a complete waste of time to me. Just another tacky ITV1 attempt to pat themselves on the back. I mean, it's not like the awards mean anything in the music industry either. No wonder most of the celebrities look embarrassed to be there (Holly Valance and Ronan Keating to name a couple). The music, set, graphics and presenting (I mean - why Amanda Holden?! She should stick to acting) are also incredibly tacky.

It's funny how Gareth Gates always wins awards on ITV.

Yes - and Will Young - I didn't know he was still around! Surely he hasn't had any successful releases this year...?

I bet they'll have an item about this on the ITV News later on, too...

Before T4 got hold of it and ruined it (the filmic look they use is only the start.............)

A bizzare award there was 'Best TV Theme tune'. Maybe this show would go down better with the forum if the themes were from rolling news channels!

Ant and Dec couldn't be there, though that'll be because they wouldn't go to an awards show for their theme tune!

Rofl! The best part by far just then - watching the puzzled look on Gareth Gates' and Girls Aloud's faces when Jon Culshaw came on as Ozzy Osbourne!

He's been recording his new album, he's got a new single which is being released shortly (if not already), which is very good, and a very bizarre video.

They did this last year for the first year. I remember it being a lot better than this year. Some moments have been good. But is this really the musical opinion of the UK?

And I'm a reader of the Daily Mirror, and haven't seen it anywhere over the past year!

The awards themselves are a bit pointless, but the performances in between have been good.

The Smash Hits poll winners Party? That used to be on BBC One on a sunday afternoon?

T4 joined grabbed hold of the rights, and didn't seem to pump as much money into it. It was at the same time that Smash Hits changed. Its now the Smash Hits, T4 Poll Winners Party. Basically giving a few exclamation marked shaped awards and performances on a rubbish set, presented by june & vernon.

Rather than the days when each year was a different theme, and pop stars presented. ANd the gold disc awards.
