What the hell is this sh!te? Just when I thought there couldn't be anything more farcical than the National Television Awards, along comes this bollox. It's presented by that woman who shagged Neil Morrissey.

Gareth Gates miming a cover of Spirit In The Sky on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway won "Best Television Performance", even though it was against Robbie at Knebworth and other proper live singers (Ruby Wax & Jo Brand doing the Cheeky Girls etc).

Nearly every award has been presented by ITV1 "personalities", and most of the "winners" haven't even bothered to turn up.

Utter crap. Thank God it's tucked away on a Wednesday night.

I wondered how long it'd be before someone made a thread on this show. Didn't Amanda say it's voted for by readers of the Daily Mirror?

Excude me! I think it is a good show!

Most of the acts so far have sung live! (B.L.P, Busted) except Rachael Steveons!
I like it! Anyway, you don't have to watch it do you!

I don't think it's that bad myself. Not up to the standards of the EMAs (though unlike the EMAs, there's no awful filmic effect.) or the Brits, but it's still entertaining nontheless. Maybe they could try and raise the profile of this show in future years to try and make it more high-key like the Brits.

BTW, where's the Record of The year got to this year? By this point last year they were already running the countdown shows.

It's funny how Gareth Gates always wins awards on ITV.

Indeed, although unsettling viewing, the Food Police were a lot more interesting than this tat on ITV 1 Razz

It wasn't only until I read the comments in this thread, that I had to see what all the fuss was about. I've switched over and the show is truely dire - its something 10yr old girls would swoon over Laughing
